J'rias

• Fort Transfer: J'rias arrives at Igen with a full chromatic wing as part of a transfer deal, including goldrider Lanelle and a couple bronzeriders. Word is his Zhareth flew the last Fort gold to rise, and the Weyrleader was quite nervous about keeping this ambitious wingleader around, especially as the golds rise more often.

• Wingleader: He's fine, but it's not as if he's the best tactical mind of his generation. His position has come through biding his time, sheer hard work, and playing his cards right. As a wingleader, he's known for being a hard worker, and he's made a point of turning down privileges associated with rank in order to build solidarity and goodwill among his riders.

• Ambition: It's not a secret. Remains to be seen how that will play out in a new location and if the old loyalties will hold, but he's sure to be looking to make connections.

• Weyr-first: J'rias has had plenty of time over the last twenty-some Turns to resent the Hold and Craft treatment of the Weyrs. His Weyr-first attitude has only grown stronger as the Interval gives way to the Pass. What will that mean in Igen, when he doesn't know the local landscape and its politics?

• Baby Brother: He finagled a way for his kid brother, V'riad, to be transferred with him. Just how close do these family bonds go? J'rias has always been fair, but will that hold when there's family involved?

Dark skin, dark eyes, and a charming smile: this is J'rias in a nutshell. He's on the shorter side, but makes up for it with presence, holding himself high. He keeps his black hair trimmed close to his head, and he's scrupulously clean-shaven. Decades as a rider in leaner times has kept him trim and in shape.
