An Igen native, O'rin lived a largely uneventful adolescence. He began standing when he came of age, impressing Ezrath when he was 15. As the pair matured, despite a sprinkling of traditional youthful shenanigans, they gained a reputation for being judicious, self-possessed, and steadfast. Boring, some might say.
Over the turns, O'rin has served the Weyr in a variety of capacities - a few as wingrider, more as an assistant weyrlingmaster, still more as a wingsecond. He was a natural and reasonable choice for Weyrsecond when he accepted the position.
That was before Thread began to fall again. Now some wonder if he's flexible enough to adapt to changing times, if he's too soft to defend Igen Weyr's interests. Regardless of what anyone thinks, O'rin will do his duty, as he's always done, until the weyrleaders see fit to replace him. And that time has not yet come.
A brownrider in his mid-forties, with dark hair and dark eyes, kept fit through the work demanded of a dragonrider.
